来月に新しい形の検索エンジンを発表するそうだ。
誰が発表するのかというと、Mathematicaの開発者のスティーブン・ウルフラムさんです。彼はWolfram Research社を創り、今CEOをやっているのですが、子供のときの経歴が凄い！
15歳で素粒子論の学術論文を書いて、17歳でイギリスのオックスフォード大学を卒業。20歳の時にはカリフォルニア工科大学で理論物理学の博士号を取っています。
かなりの天才ぶりですね。
そんな彼がどんな検索エンジンを発表するのかというと、自然言語処理を利用した検索エンジンだそうだ。検索ボックスに質問を書くとその答えが返ってくる。
今あるサービスだとPowersetですね。まだこれも開発中のものですが、将来はGoogleを越えるのではないかと騒がれています。また2008年にはMSによって買収されています。
自然言語処理は、検索したい内容があいまいなときに非常に役に立つものになると思います。例えばお昼に何か食べるものを決めるとき、これといったものが見当たらないことが結構あると思います。そうした時に、この近くの美味しいラーメン屋は？と検索すると近くにあるラーメン屋のサイトや口コミが出てくる。
もちろん、googleのような普通の検索エンジンも必要なのですが、これからは検索エンジンの種類が増え、Googleだけが必要になるといったことがなくなるかもしれません。

Future of Mobile
The Themes is for mobile content.Recently, mobile content is growing by the start-up companies in Japan.For example DeNA and Gree, mobilefactory and furiously, froute are odds,and many other companies.
But the company still holds the top market share, it will become evident in the rate of market share position and expand the idea by now.
I think Mobile content is now better than any other country Japan.

Sunがとうとう買収される
オラクルが２０日、サン・マイクロシステムズを買収することで合意した、と発表しました。
今まではIBMが買収がサンの買収に力を入れていたのですが、金額的な問題でクリアできなかったので、買収には至りませんでした。
またそれと同時に、HPとオラクルでサンをソフト（オラクル）とハード（HP）で2分割する案や、シスコシステムズが買収するのではないかとも言われていた。
しかしながら、結局はオラクル単体での買収という結果になりました。
会社としてはサンはIBMよりかは社風を考えるとオラクルのほうが良かったのかもしれないです。オラクルはサンと同じくシリコンバレーの会社ですから、社風も同じような自由なものです。
またオラクルとサンの創立者で会長のラリーエリソンとスコットマクネリは、共に反ビルゲイツ精神で一時期はNOISと呼ばれる反マイクロソフト同盟を組んでいたこともあります。NOISとは会社の頭文字で、Nがネットスケープ、Oがオラクル、IがIBM、Sがサンというマイクロソフトの快進撃を止めようという同盟です。
サンはほとんど反MSのためにjavaやオープンオフィスを出し、市場に影響を与えてきました。その製品は今後どうなるのかが問題ですね。
さらに、オラクルはハードにも力を入れていくと思います。そこで、これからオラクルはソフトとハードと総合したIT企業になっていくのでしょうか。
またOSとかも出すかもしれませんね。

オバマ政権にCTO
アメリカ新大統領がバラク・オバマ大統領になり、新しくアメリカ政府にCTOの役職を作ることが決まっている。
CTOとはchief technical officerの略で、最高技術責任者のことです。
今回アメリカでは、政府運営とアメリカのテクノロジー政策に対して大きなビジョンを打ち出すような人物を探しており、ナードのような技術者を探しているようです。
ちなみに、ナードとは簡単に言えば、コンピュータを触っていれば他に何をいらないというコンピュータマニアのことで、例えばLinuxを作ったリーナストーパルズや、Appleを作ったスティーブウォズニアックや、Googleのセルゲイブリンやラリーペイジなどのことを言います。
しかし、そのCTOはまだ誰かは決まっていない状況にあるらしい。
その候補としては、非常にレベルの高い人たちがリストアップされており、誰になるかが注目です。

落石注意
日本の山奥か、山のある道路では以下のような標識が立てられていることが多い。
たぶんこれと同じようなものを見た人は結構いると思います。
しかし、この標識はナンセンスだ。
なぜならば、落石注意と書いてあるがどのように注意をしたらいいか分からないからだ。
たとえば話だが、これを見て進行方向以外の周りも入念に見たとしよう。しかし、その標識の近くになんと「運転中のよそ見は危険!」と書いてある標識がある。
じゃあ、車のスピードを上げればいいのかと思ってスピードを上げてみても、「この先連続カーブあり！」などと書かれており、スピードを上げることもできない。
また、車を止めればいいのかと言っても、「ここでは駐車禁止」と書かれている。
どうすればいいのですか
これでは完璧に八方塞状態ですね。
落石注意という標識があっただけで、どうすることもできなくなってしまう。
言い換えると、「君は危険区域にいるんだけど、どうすることもできないないのです。ただ岩が落ちてきたらごめんなさい」といっているようなものですね。
それならどうすればいいのかというと、岩などが落ちてこないような仕組みを作らなければならないのである。例えば、岩の落ちてきそうなところに柵を作り、落ちないようにしないといけない。
現代ではこのような頑張ればなんとか対策ができるのだが、これといって対策をせずそれなりの対応しかしない現状が幾つか見られるように思う。
非常に地道な作業かもしれないが、このような当たり前の対策が次につながっていくのではないでしょうか。
かの松下幸之助さんは「雨が降ったら傘をさす。」ということをいい、当たり前のことを非常に重要視してきました。
上の例で挙げると、岩が落ちそうだから標識を作って注意を促すのではなく、落ちないようにしないといけないのです。
訂正：上の標識は土交通省道路局では、この先に路側より落石のおそれがあるため車両の運転上注意が必要であることを指します。なお、「落ちてくる石（岩）」もしくは「道路に落ちている石（岩）」の一方のみに対して注意が必要であるということではありません。とあります。
つまり、落ちている岩と落ちてくるだろう岩に気をつけろということですね。少し解釈が間違えておりました。
ただメインは落ちている岩になるでしょうから、あの標識はどの角度から考えてもナンセンスですね。
